Doctor of Optometry Scott L. Baer graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1993. He then completed a residency in eye disease at the Omega Eye Care Center in Jackson, Tennessee, in 1994. Dr. Baer practiced in Jackson and in Knoxville before joining the Greene Vision Center in Harriman in 1997. In 1999, the Greene Vision Center became a part of The Eye Centers, and Dr. Baer continues to care for patients at The Eye Center of Harriman and The Eye Center of Oak Ridge.
Dr. Baer practices primary care optometry, which includes routine examinations; glasses and contact lens fitting; refractive surgery/laser vision correction consultations; surgical pre- and post-operative care; and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries; including infections, diabetic eye monitoring, and glaucoma care.
Dr. Baer is a member of the American Optometric Association. He is also a member of the Tennessee Optometric Association and the East Tennessee Optometric Society, and he has held offices in both of these organizations.
A native of Atlanta, Dr. Baer has lived in Tennessee for more than 30 years. He is married and has one son.
